About Tziki

Tziki is what an authentic souvlaki shop in Athens feels like, dropped on the corner of 7th Avenue and 22nd Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. The first modern souvlatzidiko opened in Athens in 1924 β€” Tziki carries the flame a century later, the old school way. Gyro carved off the spit, pita made by hand, tzatziki made in-house. Everything is made for today β€” never tomorrow. The room is curated to evoke the lively, artistic energy of Athens. Open daily, 11:30 AM to 10 PM. Dine in with us, take it to go, or order online. In every souvlaki, a little bit of Greek sunshine.

I’m usually skeptical of the β€œsponsored” results on Google, this place was pretty good though. The salad was huge and tasted fresh, definitely would recommend sharing it. Chicken and beef gyros were both decent. But the standout item is portokalopita (Greek orange cake). I don’t see it on menus very often and this one was top tier for sure, a must-try if you’ve never had a slice.

This is easily one of the best Greek spots where you can experience truly authentic souvlaki. Just one bite will transport you straight to Greece and the beautiful Mediterranean coast. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· The only souvlaki I’ve had this good was in Greece itself and homemade by the Greek mother of one of my classmates. That says a lot! Do yourself a favor and ask them to add a little French fries inside the souvlaki β€” it makes it even better and gives it that authentic Greek touch. Absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Highly recommended!

I had this place save on my list for quiet some time. We saw a lot of positive reviews so went in to give it a try. We got small plate of Halloumi & honey. It tasted really good. We had 4 small triangle pieces of pita and only 3 pieces of Halloumi? Did they forget to give us another piece of cheese? We didn't bother to ask. We got chicken breast skewer Souvlaki. That tasted really good. Their hot saltsa tasted good as well. We got that on the side. Highly recommend the chicken breast skewer. We got Tahini wild mushrooms Souvlaki. That did not taste good at all. The mushrooms we really chard and did not have any seasoning. It tasted burnt. I would not recommend getting the wild mushroom wrap. I do want to come back and try their other wraps. As specially the one with Halloumi also I wanted to add fries in the wrap as well.

Amazing Greek food!! And this coming from a Greek. The pita was homemade. The pork shoulder on a spit was delicious and it was imbued with fresh spices and vegetables. We also had the orange cake which was the best I have ever had!! The service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.

Cute little restaurant with counter service and a couple of long tables. Ordering was mildly confusing but with the friendly help from the front person, we figured it out. Everything was delicious. The chicken skewer was tasty but a little dry. The house made condiments alleviated that though and added moisture. We also enjoyed the Greek fries, salad, and beef pita.
